With an estimated 2 billion people worldwide suffering from vitamin and mineral deficiencies, Fortitech (Booth 2223) and its dedicated business unit World Initiative for Nutrition (WIN) is taking a proactive stance to dramatically decrease this number. WIN works with governments and NGOs, ingredient suppliers, food mills, and manufacturers to develop and deliver tailored nutritional solutions that are practical, effective, and high quality.

“Through WIN, Fortitech is working to help develop innovative foods which can improve the nutritional status on micronutrient deficient populations,” said Francoise Chome, Director of WIN. “This has a positive impact of the health and economic wellbeing of the nations and communities to which they belong. WIN is providing support to international agencies involved in fortified food distribution, and by having quality vitamin and mineral premixes, it is expected that these food programs will have a greater impact. Criteria such as vitamin and mineral stability, bioavailability, interaction in the food, etc. are carefully analyzed to determine the optimal premix profile.”
