10th Anniversary Fun Run and Walk
by Kelly Frederick
The Fun Run & Walk is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Monday, July 19, at Grant Park. Proceeds from this 5K run/walk are designated for undergraduate and graduate scholarships. Feeding Tomorrow, the Foundation of the Institute of Food Technologists, is a community of donors who promote the education, service, and research that advance access to safe and nutritious food. Feeding Tomorrow programs raise awareness of food science and technology while guiding students who will be prepared to one day meet the needs of a growing global population. The Fun Run & Walk is co-sponsored by the IFT Student Association (IFTSA) and Feeding Tomorrow.
If you have pre-registered for the Fun Run, be sure to pick up your race bib and t-shirt at the Fun Run Booth at the Grand Concourse of McCormick Place on Sunday, July 18, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Participants who signed up for the Ann Hollingsworth ticket may also pick up their commemorative wrist band. Custom plaques will be awarded to the first, second, and third place men’s and women’s 5K winners.
